As you may know, Rammstein sings on German :) lol

OK, many of you Rammstein fans already probably know basic German (Deutsch) rules in pronunciation (a.k.a. reading), but this is for those who don't know.

You will notice that German is quite simple, has only a few basic rules, which are always followed. On the contrary of French :) (no offense anyone!)

As both German and English have literally same "root" of language, English-speaking users will find it easy to learn.

So let's begin...

CH is pronounced as H as in House (so, it means that "Ich will" is "Ih willl")
Z is pronounced as C as in ... huh?
EI is pronounced as AI as in Naive
Ö is pronounced as something between "O" and "E"
ü is pronounced as something between "U" and "I"
S is pronounced as Z as in Zed
ß is same as SS and is pronounced as S as in Sun
ä is pronounced as e as in Enroll
eu is pronounced as oj
äu is also pronounced as oj
sch
is pronounced as Sh as in Shark
tsch is pronounced as Ch as in Chair
st, on the beginning of the sentence, is pronounced as Sht
ie
is pronounced as long i
v
(the famous German "fau") is pronounced as f as in Follow

There are some other rules also, but not very necessary here. For example, g at the end of the sentence is pronounced as h

So let's see some of Rammstein songs and try to decrypt it ;)

Mann gegen mann
Das Schicksal hat mich angelacht ~ Das Shikzal hat mih angelaht
und mir ein Geschenk gemacht ~ unt mir ajn Geshenk gemaht

The t here in und is one of the "other" rules... At the end of the sentence, d is pronounced as t ...

and so on...

That's all! Hope you'll find it easier!

If anyone finds any mistake, please mail me.
